There are two concurrent plots running on Dark Shadows at the moment: one, the story of a headless dead sorcerer running around killing people, the other a traditional soap staple involving a relationship triangle and a custody dispute. And the weird thing is, I'm enjoying the Soap plot so much more than the Spook plot. I think it is because the Soap plot involves relatable human emotions, whereas our headless boogeyman is just capital 'E' Evil for the sake of it.
Dark Shadows 1120
Oct. 10th, 2018 08:20 pm ...And here I am, nearly at the end of this series, and it's suddenly turned into a soap opera again. What's more it's a darn good one too. There's attempted murder , blackmail, stolen documents, a long lost husband returning from the dead (the day his 'widow' remarries!) and all round family dysfunction. A sorcerous head is looming on the horizon, but for the moment all the supernatural tricks have been laid aside. Oddly enough it works!
